Best Management Practices (BMPs) for storm and surface water management work to reduce pollutant loads and concentrations of constituents of concern.NovelE provides initial consulting for regulatory discharge reporting compliance and emergency source removal activities. NovelE personnel conduct third-party audits of discharges leading the interviews, root cause analysis, and compiling the Corrective Action Analysis Report. NovelE works with the facility's internal Departments to evaluate the required corrective actions for implementation.
Implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) may bring a site into compliance or address a desire for sustainable procedures by the facility. NovelE worked with the Environmental Program Manager for HART to create an Objectives, Targets and Programs Action Plan for Waste Minimization and Recycling detailing waste management, handling and recycling procedures for the 19.34-acre facility. This included recommendations to decrease hazardous, non-hazardous and solid waste disposal by 30% by 2019; increase recycling to 75% by 2020 to match the statewide recycling goal established by Section 403.7032, Florida Statutes; and change the facilities generator status as defined by Title 40, Chapter I, Part 262, Code of Federal Regulations from Small Quantity Generator (SQG) to Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) by 2019.
Best Management Practices (BMPs) may be required as part of a permit needed for facility operations.
NovelE can act as the Team Leader for in-house Environmental Compliance Audits conducted at industrial facilities. NovelE's comprehensive checklist or the client's internal checklist can be utilized for the audit. Audits can be conducted in compliance with ISO 14001 standards upon request. Subsequent to formal ISO 14001 audits, NovelE can work directly with facility staff to implement corrective actions related to the Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) identified.
NovelE can create site-specific inspection forms to meet RCRA inspection, Clean Water Act (CWA), and CERCLA requirements. Examples include RCRA weekly inspection forms, Outfall Inspection Forms, Tank Inspection Forms, and Vehicle and Equipment Storage Area inspection forms. NovelE can prepare the associated training documents outlining accurate completion of the forms and describing the appropriate regulatory controls guiding the inspections. Forms and EDs can be completed pursuant to the client's individual ISO certified or ISO compliant Environmental Management System.
